Starling bees at work

Starling Hotel Geneva’s bee keepers are pleased to annonce that they achieved their 1st honey harvest successfully !

Here are the processes of the honey harvest and extraction, version “24”.

DAY #1

15h 00 : Opening the hives & using a smoker to calm the bees

15h10 : Removing the 20 frames filled with capped honey

15h20 : Sweeping off bees & putting the frames in a new honey supers

15h20 : Sweeping off bees & putting the frames in a new honey supers

DAY #2

9h30 : Uncapping the frames with an uncapping fork or a knife

10h30 : Loading & turning on honey extractor

10h35 : Honey collecting

14h29 : Honey weighting

32.4 KG of honey !
